The Challenge
Building a companion robot that genuinely connects with children requires AI that understands emotions, recognizes faces, detects activities, processes speech, and responds naturally — all running on edge hardware with strict latency requirements. No off-the-shelf solution existed for this combination of capabilities.
Our Approach
We partnered with Embodied from inception, delivering a full suite of AI models: emotion recognition from facial expressions and voice, object and activity detection for contextual awareness, face recognition for personalization, image captioning for conversational grounding, and voice AI for natural interaction. We also built the mobile companion app and data analytics platform.
Results
Moxie became a commercially launched companion robot recognized for its emotional intelligence and child engagement. The partnership has been ongoing since the company's inception, spanning AI, mobile, and data platform development — one of our longest-running and most comprehensive collaborations.
